The National Mission on Edible Oils - Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) is an ambitious initiative of the Government of India, aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in edible oil production. In Assam, the Mission is being actively implemented through partnerships between the Department of Agriculture and empanelled oil palm companies. This integrated approach seeks to empower farmers, boost local production, and reduce dependency on imports.
